Empire
An Empire silhouette is characterized by its waistline, which is directly beneath the bust, where it connects with the skirt. The skirt of Empire dresses may follow the lines of a sheath or column dress, falling softly to the ground; or it may be A-Line, gently flare away from the body. An Empire gown must also have a fitted bodice to be a true Empire style. The Empire silhouette is flattering for almost all figures.
